Located in the Kimberley area of Western Australia, the Broome Hotel and Resort boasts good accommodation in Broome and is an ideal base for exploring the original Kimberley environment that I first discovered in 1974. Staying in the Bloom style was once a bit rough in the 70' Pioneer town where I lived, but now Bloom Resort and Broome Backpacker Accommodation is a world class Australian accommodation property.
Guests can arrive in Broome by road or plane from Perth, Darwin, Port Hedland or Bali.
The people of Broome are very friendly and relaxed. Many of them are indigenous people. Sports and recreation are an important part of community life. Fishing at Broome is a popular leisure activity.
Bloom has an excellent subtropical climate, and Broome's cable car beach is one of the best beaches in the world [Bloom Beach, Bloom is listed as one of the top 5 beaches in the world's top travel magazines].
During the dry season from April to November, surfing at the Cable Beach Broome is small, fast and enjoyable. During the cyclone, surfing can get a fire at Grantheaume Point, where you can see red sunsets and pindan [unique low native trees and jungles that thrive in Kimberley soil].
One of the biggest annual events is the Broome event. Races is a very popular Bloom event and I recommend the Senior Broome Accommodation Reservation.
The main event of Bloom in August is Shinju Matsuri [Pearl Festival]. If you want to enjoy the festive hours, then booking a Bloom accommodation in advance is worth it.
When you first enter Bloom and are ready to explore this incredible place, your first stop should be the Broome Visitor Center in the corner of Broome Hitor & Bagot St. Phone: 9192-2222 or call toll free 1800 883-777. They can give you a variety of information about what to watch and how to get there. They will also point to the types of activities and attractions that you tailor to your specific needs. So there is no diversion and see something that doesn't work for you!

How wonderful is the weather in Broome? Can it be better?
The northern part of Australia has only two seasons a year - wet and dry.
Wet: October - March is the monsoon season with spectacular tropical thunderstorms and warm nights. Warning: Please note that motor vehicles may not be able to enter certain remote areas due to rain, which includes four-wheel drive.
Dry: April - September for those seeking sunshine, but don't forget your 30+ sunscreen

Key information for traveling into remote areas
Please consult the Bloom Visitor Center or the local police before heading to any remote area. It is essential that you leave your travel details to the police and let them know your safe arrival when you arrive safely. If you don't, you may die [we have a visitor who often dies in the Australian outback], or face a very heavy bill that may be incited by any unnecessary rescue work.
