Qigong standing meditation

Here is a great ~ simple and powerful ~ from

Taoist meditation practice
from

This can be done outside [best in a beautiful natural environment!], or indoors. It is similar to Buddhists in many ways from

Shamata
from

Sitting in meditation practice, but ~ hence the name! ~ You stand. [So, for a person, you are unlikely to fall asleep... J]

Stand first, with your feet parallel and shoulder width apart. Take a few deep breaths and say "aaah" [loud or yourself] with exhalation. Let go of any tension you find on your shoulders, neck or face~ Simply let it "melt" and exhale...because the tension is a frozen river, it is now touched by warm sunlight, down Flowing, like a gentle waterfall of a waterfall, forms a swimming pool at your feet. Feel your energy, your consciousness, settle on your feet and legs, hips and abdomen, and connect you firmly to the earth. Slightly bend the knees ~ just enough to make the back of the knee feel soft.

Keep your arms on your sides so your thumb touches the outside of your thighs [which means your back will face forward]. Separate your fingers and stretch them so that they are straight without stiffness, so there is space between each pair of fingers [just like you have a braided finger]. Now, float your hands straight forward three to four inches so they will linger in front of your thighs [but still on both sides]. This should create a sense of emptiness under your arm. Let your elbows bend enough to make them soft.

Now choose a gaze point eight or ten feet in front of you. Rest very gently at that point [or area]. [Past meditation masters have found that there is a connection between our eye movements and ideological movements... so keeping your eyes still is a good way to calm your mind.] Try to get that. ] found that you are watching enter Your eyes, not sticking out [using the energy of your eyes] "catch" it. In other words, make your eyes easier to accept, not active... Relax your chin and make room between your upper and lower teeth, even if your lips are well closed.

So now you have been in the position of meditation and staying here for a while. Once you arrange yourself in this way, there is nothing to "do". In this position, just pay attention to what it looks like here.

If you are not familiar with the exercise, please keep it for a few minutes. You can make some minor adjustments to it because it is necessary for your comfort, but our idea is to move as little as possible. Once you get the correct alignment of the pose, you will be supported in a fairly "immobile" way. internal exercise Qi / Vitality will be very enjoyable and healing. When you continue this practice ~ weeks or months or years ~ you are able to keep this position for a longer time [30 minutes, an hour]. But in the beginning, a few minutes is wonderful!
